Let us know how the rope mods work - I’ve been thinking about trying it out. I wrapped my sticks with camo felt tape (an alternative to stealth strips) to deaden some noise and did some mods to the buckles for noise, as well. I liked it so much I went lighter and got a saddle for this year.
I used the LW sticks last year with one of Millennium’s lightweight stands.
I’m usually 10 to 15 minutes sitting in my stand and hunting. This is a really solid platform option and ive been wanting. With my climber I felt like I was wasting an hour trying to find a good enough tree, if I could find one where I wanted to be and not to far away from say an intersection of trails. Now its more like, oh so many to choose from. In this weeks video I go over the new for 2022 Lone Wolf Custom Gear - The Fix Saddle Platform. Not a super light set up, but I think it beats my climber, and way quieter. I was able to attach sticks as I went with the stand on my back no problem, will just tie my pull rope off the stand to pull my bow up making it in one trip up. Also tied a loop of 550 cord on each side of my harness to hang a climbing stick on each side that worked great.īought a second ropeman ascender for a second linemans to get around branches which also doubled as my tree strap for my safety harness once I got into the stand. I cansay I really did not care for the aider on my first step, could just be what I used which was nothing but a loop.īought a set of army alice rucksack straps to attach to the stand and they worked great, wayyy better than crap they came with. Rope came today to try that mod tomorrow vs the buckles. I think it went pretty darn smooth.Took me maybe 15 minutes to be up and sitting in the stand.Įverything stock, no mods. Into the woods and did a trial run with the climbing sticks.
